Introduction of Ramechhap District

Ramechhap district, a part of Janakpur Zone. is one of seventy five district of Nepal. Manthali is the district headquarters of Ramechhap district. It has 55 village development committees (VDC). The total area of Ramechhap district is about 1546 sq km. absolute location of Ramechhap district 270 28’ to 270 50’ north latitude and 850 50’ to 860 35’ eastern longitude. Total population of Ramechhap district 205312. (District profile Ramechhap, 2008).
Manthali Bazzar, Ramechhap Bazar, Sanghutar Bazar, Khimti Bazzar, Salu Bazar, Chuchure Bazar, Those Bazzar, Bamti Bhandar Bazaar, Doramba Bazzar, Galpa Bazzar and Pokhari Bazzar are the main trade center of Ramechhap district. In Ramechhap district there are many rivers, mainly Tamakoshi, Sunkoshi, Likhu, Khimti Khola, Milti Khola are the main river. Ranajor Khola, Sukajor, Chamle Khola etc. are other rivers. Similarly there are many beautiful Pokhari like Panch Pokhari, Jata Pokhari, Dimi Pokhari and Tinlal Pokhari, etc. There are many Religious tourist attraction centers Khandadevi, Vringeswor, Thanapati Mahadev, Tribeni, Sailungeswor Mahadev etc. There are many natural tourist attraction centers Serdi Danda, Sailung Danda, Sunapati Danda, Agleswor, Kaladanda, Tame, Malagiri etc. (District profile Ramechhap, 2008).
There are so many important historical and religious places in Ramechhap district. Ramechhap is one of the richest districts in Nepal in biodiversity. The famous for the Tamang culture (Lhosar), Newari culture (Lakhe), Majhi Culture etc.
